Art
Soft pencil and charcoal art. We learned to sketch, shade with charcoal and rub with our fingers to make the charcoal blend in. Tumeke!

Our art...
We have been learning about Aotearoa, our stories and our people. We have been putting together a waka with all of our art works. Our work is nearly finished...!
Billie Bear, meanwhile, has been visiting quite a few children. Here he is, showing off their work!

We looked at many panels created by Maori carvers. We have also learned to use a soft drawing pencil. Here is some of our work....

This week...
This week we learned about adjectives, verbs and characters from books. Our author of the week was Julia Donaldson. Some of her books are: The Gruffalo, Zog, Room on the broom, The Stick Man ...just to name a few. We've also learned to use expression in our voice while thinking of poor Stick Man. Can you hear the despair in Stick Man's voice?

Papatuanuku
We have been listening to the story of Papatuanuku and Ranginui. We discussed the beauty of Papatuanuku: Mother Earth.
