Writer's Circle...

We are looking at our stories and then decide where we are on the writing continuum in Room 1. Lots of rich discussion and honest decisions being made. Next steps are also set accordingly. Great work Room 1.

We are learning to retell a story...

We have been enjoying the Knuffle Bunny books by Mo Willems.
We retold the stories in  pictures. We had to draw the beginning, middle and end of the trilogy!

The third book is called "Knuffle Bunny Free!".

We also painted one of the characters: Knuffle Bunny!

Pirate map making...impromptu art in Room 1!

Katrina came to school in her pirate costume. Our teacher remembered she had a real pirate map in her cupboard. We the all made our own pirate maps and started labeling parts. X marks the spot!!

Play Centre Visit...

Today the local Play Centre came for a visit.  We like these visits. It makes transition to school a lot easier!
This is what we did. We read about Greedy Cat. We learned to spell the word c...a...t. We made our own Greedy Cat. Ka pai Room !

Junior Swimming Sports

What an excellent Swimming Sports afternoon! We cheered and did our best when it was our turn. Well done!
