Gateway...work experience
Chantelle has come back to school! Well, not really, she is at High School now, but once a week Chantelle
comes to help us in Room 1. Chantelle wants to become a primary school teacher. She enjoys working with children and helping them learn!

...and with all the learning and the group work we do, there is something that we should not forget....ever!!
Somehow we have to try and bridge the gap that exists between Te Whariki ( early childhood curriculum) and our more formal school curriculum. Much research is taking place. Here is a link to some very interesting research that took place in New Zealand.

Reading time
At reading time we discuss a book, retell the book and then do a literacy activity on the book. Children have to draw the main character and 3 things that happened in the story.
