Testing reading levels...

...and this is how you test: Brown Blankly and all!

??????

We have found a stash of yoghurts (8) and fruit jellies (6) at the back of Room 1 and 2, in the bushes. Someone obviously doesn't like the special treat that Mum or Dad puts in their lunchbox.

Please let me know if you think it is your child. I will help them open their containers if that is the problem. Room 1 and Room 2 had a look at the items, but no one knew anything!

Fun and Games at Putaruru Primary School...

What an excellent day it was for our juniors. They had fun going around and giving all the games a go!

A big thank you to Putaruru Primary School for organising this fun-filled event!

A Big thank you as well to all the parents that came and helped out with supervision. THANK YOU

Going...

A cold little hedgehog!

In the afternoon we made pterodactyls...

and flew them!

Putaruru Primary Games Day for juniors.

On Thursday 27 October, next week already, the juniors (Room 1 and 2) will attend a fun games day at Putaruru Primary School. We will be travelling by bus.

The day will start at 10am with morning tea. After that the games will start. We will have lunch at 12 and return to school at around 1pm.
Children will need to bring their normal morning tea, lunch, a drink, a jacket (just in case) and a sunhat.
We will need 6 parent helpers to walk with the teams. Please give me (or Chris or Sarah Monteith) a ring at school a.s.a.p if able to help out.
A newsletter about this will be coming home as soon as possible, today or tomorrow. Return slips should be returned by Tuesday. Sorry about the lateness of information.
So, if you are up for a fun morning at the Putaruru Primary please let us know! Thanks!!!

Gertie and Sarah.

Dinosaurs were huge!

We found some information in a book, went outside and drew this dinosaur on the concrete. It gave us a good idea about the size of the beast. We also had a taste of measuring with the metre ruler.

Calf Club Day

Calf Club Day is an annual tradition for rural families and schools throughout New Zealand.

The events foster life-long values in children such as motivation, commitment, compassion and responsibility - they are a great entry-point into agriculture and for many, the stepping-stone to a career in farming. (From http://www.lic.co.nz/lic_calf_club.cfm).

At our school children can opt in with a calf, lamb or goat that they have been caring for since the animal's birth. They build relationships and are able to lead and call these animals. they become real pets!

Other children at school take part with helping on the day or making miniature gardens. These children attend Calf Club Day as audience to show their appreciation of the hard work done by their class mates.
