Gingerbread Friday!

We read the story, we played the game, we recited the poem and .....we baked some Gingerbread men.
We also decorated them, and then we ate them all up!

X marks the spot...

Today we printed the letter x, so we made a pirate map. X marks the spot. Then we did some pirate writing as well!

Free maths choosing time...

Here we are! Max is very busy finding out how many dinosaurs we have. He is counting them in tens.
Hayley and her helpers are sharing out beans more or less equally. They made estimations and then counted the beans.
Phineas has made a pattern and is telling us how to read it.
Cooper has been very busy in his Lollypop factory. He has counted sticks and labelled them all by himself with the correct number! Good job Cooper!

Independent work...

In Room 1 you will find lots of independent work being done by children. They use self assessment criteria to check if they have used everything they have learned.
I was reminded of this when I saw this poster on a blog by a teaching guru. Her name is Karen Boyes, she writes a very informative blog about all the ups and downs in education.
You will find her blog here:   Karen Tui Boyes. (Click on link).
